Description

This polyester fabric has almost a red chestnut background with a  muted warm paisley pattern falling into the Autumn/winter colour palettes. The design is highlighted in a mid blue, the centre of the design has a ecru background with amber, terracota, various pinks, and black finally a gold thread woven vertically every centimetre which gives the fabric a diaphanous quality.  The fabric has a beautiful flow as it falls which would make an ideal holiday garment as it would pack to nothing and would not crease. This weight of polyester is heavier than a chiffon, probably more of a georgette. It is semi sheer, if lining i would recomend the bremsilk lining as it would compliment the weight of the fabric still allowing it to flow.

Sewing Advice

  Tip...When sewing it is a good idea to hold the bottom and the top threads when starting the seam.

Sew using a microtex needle 60 or 70 with a stitch length of 2-2.5mm, preferably sewing a french seam. For interfacing use silk organza or G785 which is soft lightweight  iron-on woven interfacing. Press using a cloth, a silk organza cloth is your best friend with this type of fabric.

Washing/care instructions

All polyesters are machine washable on a warm wash and do not over dry in a tumble dryer, would be better to air dry to prevent static build up, iron on a cooler setting.

Pattern Suggestions

First pattern that comes to mind would be the Tania robe from the Pattern room company worn over a ponte jersey dress or t-shirt and jeans.  The Nicola shirt or Francessca blouse both by Tessuti patterns could look fantastic, worn in the  evenings with satin trousers or skirt especially as we are entering the season of darker evenings and a little hint of sparkle in this fabric could just lift the outfit.
