Cordroy is a fabric with cords  that run the length of the fabric and a very short pile, the cords are also know as wales and do vary in width. Very fine or baby cord is usually very soft and drapes well suitable for skirts. trousers, shirts, jackets and childrens clothes.

This fabric needs to be pre washed before cutting out as it will shrink slightly. When cutting out it must be treated as fabric "with nap". Tip...Pile wears better if the pieces are cut with the nap going down, but for a richer colour then cut with the nap going up. Never press on the right side of the fabric, use a fluffy towel or self fabric with iron on a steam cotton setting, rub the fabric against itself to restore the nap.

Sew with a universal needle 80/12 and a stitch length 2.5mm.
